Davao Escapade!

I was so fortunate that my trip to Davao was sponsored by the Embassy of the United States of America to attend the Democracy Summer Fest for the Arts. I'v been dreaming even before to visit this prominent city of the southern Philippines, and this is it, a dream come true!

But then its not just easy to be with the group...hundred of nominees were screened yet only 50 made it.

1. The US Embassy sent invitations all throughout the schools ( public or private ) months before the event. Since this is the first camp that they sponsored everything was greatly planned.

2. There were three modules for the camp, nominees were made to select the field/interest which maybe Visual Art, Theater, or Creative Writing.

3. Proper documentations were submitted and after series of screening they just called-up the participants for the final instruction...

Honestly i was confused if what will i prefer, is it Creative Writing or Visual Arts?...After few days I pushed for Creative Writing since i do have articles published in our magazines and campus newsletter which might be of help for my documentation.

After a month or two they called me up...and last minute I decided to be in Visual Arts.

CHUBZ! We did a pool party and swimming ofcourse during our last
night of stay at Eden Nature Park Resort.

SWAY IT... Participants for theater arts gives their full swings with Ate Geejay as mentor

I Love It!...Imagine doing a creative writing lecture in this hut... cool! The atmosphere under the heels of a mountin was great plus the wide rainforest.
